Rajasthan University is Higher Education Institute in Rajasthan State as well as oldest. In 1947 on 8th of January Month University of Rajasthan was set up and it was known that time as University of Rajputana.
It was 1956 when the name of university was changed from University of Rajputana to University of Rajasthan. Rajasthan University was established with view of expanding knowledge and full fills need of student who live in Rajasthan State. University governed all area of the state.
It was established under act 2f and 12b of UGC. This university has a lot of faculty and several departments. No. of Post Graduation Departments is 36, Research Centre- 15, and there are 500 colleges of six Districts which are affiliated to it.
