The executives joining this program must have 3 or more years of experience. Candidates with 1st class Bachelors degree in Engineering/Technology or 1st class Masters Degree in Science, Economics or Commerce [with Mathematics or Statistics at bachelor’s level] are eligible. EMBA would have a general management focus suitable for a wide variety of sectors and students may choose courses from a wide range of electives.

The Vinod Gupta School of Management is a business school in India. It was established in 1993 at IIT Kharagpur and was the first management school to be setup within the IIT system. It was initiated by a distinguished alumnus and a Life Time Fellow of the Institute, Vinod Gupta.
IIT Kharagpur was the first of the IITs and remains the largest and most diversified. Currently, the Institute has been ranked the best engineering college in the country (2001, 2002 and 2003) and one of the best B-schools of the country. It has a vast reservoir of knowledge and expertise in the highest realm of learning in science, engineering and technology. All this is available to VGSOM students in the form of elective and audit courses.
The school's mission is to be a center of excellence in management education and research catering to the needs of organizations in different sectors of the economy with special emphasis on technology driven and knowledge based industries that are characterized by high degrees of globalization, dynamism, complexity and innovativeness.
