About Government Medical College

Government Medical College, Haldwani is a high quality comprehensive health care, education and socio-economic development system that meets the needs of people in Uttarakhand and beyond.

The populace of this region has time and again made a demand for setting-up of a Medical College in Haldwani. As a result, the State Govt. decided to set up a state-of-the-art Medical College in Haldwani under the auspices of the Uttarakhand Forest Hospital Trust, Haldwani. The college is located at the foothill of Nainital in the city of Haldwani.

The foundation of Medical College was laid by Shri Romesh Bhandari, the then Hon'ble Governor of U.P. on 19th March 1997.  Approximately 90 acres of land have been acquired for this purpose.
